Every year St Ives hosts the awesome September Festival, the largest festival in the South West. This is the 37th year and there are over 200 events taking place over a 2 week period, 12th – 26th September.
It’s a great time to be in St Ives, the town has a great vibe and the weather’s fab.
In this vid Alan Shepherd, festival director, introduces the 2014 September Festival which summarises just some of the things you can expect to find; then check out what’s on this year on the St Ives September Festival website.
It’s not just for watching either, get involved yourself with writing and arts & crafts workshops alongside open mic nights. Bring your guitar and start something up in our courtyard, we’d be up for it and we’ll give you a free beer to oil your vocal chords.
Cohort is right in the centre of St Ives and the perfect place to base yourself. We’re just a 30 second walk to the Guildhall, where most of the big music acts take place, and a 45 second walk to the St Ives Arts Club which hosts the screenings and a variety of other performances. We’re also right opposite The Western Hotel which hosts the jazz festival and within a 10 minute walk of all the other venues.
At just £22 or £23/night you can afford to spend your money around town and if you get the train here you won’t even have to worry about parking!
