We’re lucky to have Osbornes, the cheapest grocery store in St Ives, right opposite and open 7 days a week. There is also a Co-Op supermarket next door which sells everything you might need during your stay and has a small but useful selection of medicines and toiletries. It’s open every day from 07.00 – 23.00.
Round the corner from Cohort, on the high street, there is a local greengrocers called Trim, a health food shop called Good Health, another Co-Op supermarket and a few bakeries. All this is within a 2 minute walk of Cohort and all are open 7 days a week bar Good Health which is shut on Sundays.
Both Co-Op and Good Health have a selection of gluten free and vegan produce.
There is a launderette – St Ives Launderette – just 50 yards up the road, it is open 7 days a week and does serviced washes or you can sit in.
Yes we do, we take kids from 3 years old however we don’t have kiddy facilities i.e. nappy bins, changing mats, travel cots, etc. so if you are travelling with a young child you must have all your own equipment with you. Please note that if you are travelling with children under 10 you MUST book a private room or book exclusive use of a dorm room to avoid disturbing other guests.
We love families and are happy for you to stay with us however please note that we can’t guarantee that you won’t be in with other guests unless you book exclusive use of a dorm, i.e. pay for all 6 beds. Do note (as above) that if you are travelling with children under 10 we do require you to book a room on your own, i.e. a whole dorm room or a private room.
Sorry… we don’t allow dogs of any size, no matter how well-behaved.
At Cohort we take all cards except AmEx and Diners.
That’s fine too! There are lots of cash points close by Cohort, one just a few yards away. Do note however that we do not have a cashback service at Cohort.
You can check in any time from 12.00 however if you are arriving after 22.00 (when reception closes) please let us know so we can arrange a self check-in for you. If you’d like to arrive earlier than Midday you’re more than welcome, we have a secure bag storage where we can hold your bags until your bed / room is ready.
We have a secure bag storage service if you’d like to hang out in St Ives for the day after you check out. There is no charge but you must pick your bag up before reception closes at 10pm otherwise it will be locked in there until the following morning.
We take the first night’s accommodation as a non-refundable deposit when you make a booking, should you cancel with more than 24 hours notice you will not be liable for any more than that; should you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, or just not show up you will be charged the full cost of your stay.
Yes, we have superfast wifi throughout the building; it’s free and you will be given the password on arrival.
No you don’t and we do not allow guests to use their own linen / sleeping bags due to the health risk: We provide all relevant bed linen.
We don’t provide towels but you can bring your own or hire them from us, the cost is £1.50/towel. We ask for a £5 cash deposit which you get back when you return the towel at the end of your stay or when you want a new one. These towels are only for use in the hostel and not for the beach.
We do have lockers in all the dorm rooms (one per bed) but we do not provide padlocks so please bring your own; alternatively you can hire (£2 + £3 cash deposit) or purchase them (£5) from reception when you arrive.
Lockers are under the bed and measure roughly 30cm high x 80/90cm wide and 90cm depth.
There will be a lost key charge of £2 should you lose your key while staying with us or fail to return your key when you check out. We reserve the right to charge your card once you’ve left if you haven’t returned your key card.
