Cohort offers superb group accommodation in the centre of St Ives. With coach and car parking nearby, fabulous facilities and every type of catering option it really is the ideal place to stay while you explore St Ives and SW Cornwall
St Ives is an ideal group destination as there are a huge variety of activities on offer along with shops, cafes and beaches all within a few minutes walk of each other and Cohort.
It’s a compact, safe and secure option for youth groups through to faith based groups, through to university societies and we are perfectly located for walking groups and cyclists.
Our accommodation is ideal for any sized group and we are happy to help you plan your itinerary and organise your food.
We welcome organised groups of all kinds however we do not accept the following:
The below information should help you decide if Cohort is the right place for your groups’ trip.
Our capacity is up to 60 people in the winter (November – February) and up to 54 people the rest of the year. The accommodation is configured as follows:
Details of our rooms can be seen on the Rooms & Rates page.
From October – May we have discounted rates for taking over the whole hostel; these start at £700/night in the winter. While you can still take over the whole hostel at other times of year we don’t have discounted rates June – September.
Group use of Cohort does not mean we give you keys and disappear 🙂
Taking over the hostel can be cost-effective for groups of over 35 however the hostel still operates as normal during your stay; this means that staff are on site 24/7 and restrictions on the use of communal areas remain in place. We will also keep reception and the bar open 8am – 11pm, the hostel communal areas will be cleaned twice a day and bedrooms serviced daily (unless otherwise requested).
We don’t have a minimum size for groups however while smaller groups will never share bedrooms with other guests they will share communal facilities.
For groups of 12+ we can provided a self-service breakfast, packed lunches and in-house evening meals; you can find more details here. We are also happy to help you plan and book your meals in town, recommending restaurants and cafes that offer group dining options.
We have a fully-equipped, self-catering kitchen on site which is yours to use during your stay. It’s completely up to you whether you opt for B&B, half board, full board or accommodation only. The kitchen is open from 7am – 10pm and not accessible overnight.
We provide free tea and coffee from the bar between 8 and 10am. After that you can purchase hot drinks, soft drinks, snacks and alcoholic drinks (from Midday) until 11pm. We also have a vending machine in the main lounge.
You can see a full list of our facilities here and if you take over the hostel you can make full use of the large screen in the main lounge for presentations, talks, lectures, seminars or movies!
To confirm a booking we require a 50%, non-refundable deposit; the balance is then due at least 2 weeks prior to arrival.
If you need to cancel a booking you can do so up to 45 days before without incurring additional charges.
As long as you provide enough notice we will happily consider moving the booking to a different date. This is subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
We require a £300 bond against damages for groups who take over the hostel and two sets of card details for those groups who stay in the hostel alongside other guests.
If you have any questions or wish to enquire about specific dates please do get in touch and we can have a no-obligation chat. Email Lee at firstname.lastname@example.org or fill in the form below.
