Last week we attended the HostelWorld Conference in Dublin. We weren’t sure what we were going to get from it, a bit of industry insight maybe, hints and tips on how to be better and what other people were doing… Whatever we expected we got so much more!

We love our planet and being so close to the ocean we are reminded daily of the effect of our business and our lives on this relatively fragile ecosystem; but why do we need to save water? Reduce our energy consumption and go plastic free?

The sun is OUT. The longest day of the year is still in front of us and we all know that Summer is coming.

This is one of THE best times to be in St Ives and there’s a reason these next few months are the busiest of the year. When faced with a day in St Ives however there’s still the big question… WHAT SHALL I DO?

As you might know Cornwall has a history of festival shenanigans – we love a good knees up; it’s an excuse to take time off work, hit the beach or harbour and celebrate all things Cornish. And so it begins… 2017, another year, another new year’s resolution. Personally I’ve stopped making them, mainly due to a total lack of interest in watching myself fail. Others may not make them for the sheer fact that they’re already doing it… like daily!

We live in the UK, we know that sometimes – when you’re least expecting it – it rains. It can change plans but don’t let it put you off enjoying your time in St Ives. There’s loads to do from enjoying a leisurely coffee, without the pressure to do a challenging coastal walk, through to a spa day and a visit to the St Ives museum. Our list will keep you busy for at least 2 days of inclement weather.

In April of this year Cohort Hostel was taken over for two days by a wedding party. They decorated it beautifully, organised fantastic activities and food for the whole party, spending their very special 2 days with their closest friends and family. We were delighted to be a part of their celebrations.
