Fishing

St Ives has some of the best fishing grounds in the UK with clear water and masses of mixed species.

Sam Narbett has been fishing in Cornish waters since he was 15 and is a wealth of knowledge and experience on your trip.

We work with and recommend Bluefin Charters who are based in the heart of St Ives, just a short walk from Cohort. They are a highly experienced and fun crew and run 3 different types of fishing trips:

Mackerel Trip

Find Mackerel, Cod, John Dory, Red Gurnard, Scad, Pilchards and Haddock on this short fishing trip with all equipment included. No previous experience necessary.

Time: 1 hour 30 (approx).

Wreck & Reef Fishing

This the most popular fishing trip and a great introduction to deep sea fishing in Cornwall. Common fish caught are Cod, Pollack, Haddock, Ling, Gurnard and John Dory. All equipment is included and the guys will even gut and clean your fish for you at the end of the trip so it’s all ready to be cooked. There is a recommended minimum age of 12 years old for this trip.

Time: 4 hours (approx.)

Deep Sea Fishing

This is the longest (day) fishing trip on offer and it’s where you can find the biggest fish. Expect shark fishing (Sharking), Wrecking, Tope Hounds & Huss, Rays, Turbot & Brill, Bass, Cod, Pollock and Haddock. All equipment is included and if there’s a decent sized group it’s possible to charter the boat privately.

Time: 8 hours (approx.)

Prices available for a full day private charter.
