Cohort Hostel, The Stennack, St Ives, Cornwall TR26 1FF
We encourage all our guests to get to us by public transport, especially during the summer months when it’s far less stressful to be without a car in St Ives. The bus network is awesome, especially May – September, and you can get anywhere you need to go. The money you save on parking can be used to buy more Cornish pasties…. #nomnomnom.
Download our 20 Things to do without a car for inspiration.
When you arrive at Cohort you can offset the carbon you used to get to us at reception. In partnership with the MoreTrees you can pay just £1 and a tree will be planted on your behalf in the developing world. Read more about this scheme and our green ethos here.

National Express bus 3 times a day Newquay – Hayle (1 hour) then jump on a local bus for 10 minutes to St Ives.
We are a 5-7 minute walk from the train station. Follow the main road into St Ives town centre (if you’re coming from the train station walk through the car park to find it) and keep following it as it turns sharply to the right and goes downhill. The first left towards the bottom of the hill is a tiny side road, ignore that and take the next left onto Gabriel Street. Walk past the library and then the Co-Op supermarket (on your right) to find Cohort after that on your right hand side.
For more details see our map at the bottom of this page.
If you’re coming by car TURN OFF YOUR SATNAV as it will take you on a merry dance around St Ives.
From the A30 turn off on the A3074 signposted St Ives, follow the road, ignoring signs for ‘Day Visitors’ and the Tate, for about 2 miles into St Ives. At the St Ives Harbour Hotel & Spa turn right off the road into the main town and keep following the road until it turns sharply to the right and goes downhill. The first left towards the bottom of the hill is a tiny side road, ignore that and take the next left onto Gabriel Street. Drive past the library and then the Co-Op supermarket (on your right) to find Cohort after that on your right hand side.
You cannot park outside Cohort unless it’s for a super quick bag drop (please don’t try to park for long)… there are 3 car parks all very near to our hostel and you can see full details on our parking page and for top tips read our blog.
