There is a great variety of watersports in St Ives. Try anything, no experience necessary.
As well as being fantastic fun and a great way to explore the breathtaking views of St Ives Bay from the water, SUP is also fantastic exercise and easy to learn. SUP lessons and guided tours with St Ives Surf School take place on the tranquil Porthminster beach which overlooks the beautiful St Ives Harbour and Godrevy Lighthouse.
Stand Up Paddleboarding can also be done from Carbis Bay Beach, just a mile down the road. Equipment can be hired from Ocean Sports and you will be given instruction as per your experience.
Coasteering is an adrenaline-pumping combination of traversing rocks, floating through gullies, sea swimming, exploring caves and negotiating rock jumps. St Ives is home to one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in Cornwall, making it the ideal location for coasteering.

You can do this on your own and hire equipment from St Ives Surf School, alternatively a guided sea kayaking tour is a picturesque 2-hour exploration of the St Ives bay and surrounding area: You’ll leave the beach at Porthminster and progress leisurely along the rugged Cornish coastline.
The sit-on-top kayaks are extremely safe, easy to use and require no previous kayaking experience.
Sea kayaking can also be done from Carbis Bay Beach, just a beautiful mile walk from St Ives. Ocean Sports offer a variety of kayaks for singles or couples.
