Surf Club trips to St Ives

February 27th, 2018

During the winter months when all most of us can think about are slippers, the sofa and endless box sets on Netflix, Cohort Hostel hosts a number of surf societies who come down to take advantage of the great swells we get at this time of year.

Cold it might be but the sun is often shining and there is something magical about St Ives in the winter.

They don their wet suits, occasionally with hoods, boots and gloves, and head out into the ocean in all temperatures.

University of Bristol Surf Club are regular visitors and recently Whale on the Trail, an independent film travel blog which is rooted around ideas of adventurous, affordable, innovative travel, made a simply awesome video of their trip down to St Ives earlier this month.

In their words…

“We always have such amazing weekend trips down to St Ives staying at Cohort, the hostel has such a lovely feel and is set up so well for storing surfboards, washing wetsuits, and having big communal meals. Love this place!”
